1200 x 675mm Security Ductile Iron Manhole Cover D400

This 1200 x 675mm security manhole cover and frame is a heavy duty D400 rated ductile iron access cover designed for large chamber openings where traffic loading and restricted access are both required. It is commonly specified for carriageways, defence estates, prisons, cable networks, utility infrastructure and sensitive service chambers.

The multi leaf double triangular design divides the opening into manageable cover sections rather than one oversized lid. This improves handling during inspections while maintaining a robust seating arrangement for heavily trafficked environments. It is a practical solution for larger ducts and chambers that need periodic access.

A second generation two part internal security plate assembly is fitted beneath the outer covers. This system requires only one padlock per product and includes a case hardened hasp to help resist tampering. Optional cap-head, pin-hex or Resistorx screw locking can also be specified for additional site security.

Manufactured from spheroidal graphite ductile iron, the CD 693HKMD-SEC is built for repeated wheel loading and demanding service conditions. A non-rock three point suspension seating system helps minimise movement and noise under passing traffic.

The 1200 x 675mm clear opening provides generous access for cable ducts, larger drainage chambers and underground network maintenance points. The 100mm deep frame offers substantial bedding depth and long term frame stability.

D400 loading is intended for BS EN 124 Group 4 applications including carriageways, roads, hard shoulders, industrial yards and commercial traffic routes. It should not be used for solid wheel traffic such as forklifts unless specifically approved.

Integral MOD Pheon logos are cast into the covers, and the unit complies with HA104/09 design requirements for low and high risk areas.

Main covers and frame are manufactured from spheroidal graphite iron grade EN-GJS-500-7 to BS EN 1563:2011. Internal security components use galvanised steel for added corrosion resistance and forced-entry protection.
