450 x 450mm Ductile Iron Manhole Cover and Frame B125

This 450 x 450mm ductile iron manhole cover and frame is a solid top slide-out B125 rated access cover designed for smaller chamber openings in domestic and light commercial settings. It is commonly used on private driveways, pavements, pedestrian routes, landscaped areas and service access points where a compact but durable cover is required.

The solid top visible lid remains exposed at finished surface level, making access straightforward for routine inspection and maintenance. Where appearance is secondary to strength, reliability and quick chamber entry, this type of cover remains a practical choice.

Manufactured from spheroidal graphite ductile iron, the CD 761 KMB offers stronger impact resistance and improved structural performance compared with older grey cast iron covers. When correctly bedded on a full mortar or concrete surround, it is well suited to repeated car traffic and day to day pedestrian use.

The 450 x 450mm clear opening is a common size for inspection chambers, small drainage runs and utility points where a larger cover is unnecessary. Its more compact footprint also suits tighter paved areas where space is limited.

This model uses a slide-out lid design to reduce awkward lifting movement during opening. Integral lifting key holes are included, and the unique corner design helps ensure the cover seats back into the frame in the correct orientation after access.

B125 loading is intended for BS EN 124 Group 2 applications such as driveways, pavements and private areas with occasional vehicle traffic. It should not be used in highways, loading yards or regularly trafficked heavy vehicle areas where D400 or above would normally be required.
