450 x 450mm Grass & Gravel Recessed Manhole Cover 3.5 Tonne

This recessed manhole cover is designed to provide concealed access within grass, landscaped and gravel surfaces. The recessed tray allows the selected infill material to sit flush with the surrounding ground, maintaining a consistent finish while keeping the inspection chamber accessible.

Two infill configurations are available. The grass top version is intended for soil and turf, using drainage holes and membrane layers to support water movement and grass establishment. The EcoGrid version incorporates a stabilising grid within the tray, designed for gravel and loose aggregates where movement under foot or light vehicle loading would otherwise be an issue.

The 100mm tray depth is suited to typical landscaping build-ups. Shallower trays often result in poor turf growth or unstable aggregate. This depth provides enough material to achieve a consistent finish and maintain performance over time.

Manufactured from galvanised steel, the cover provides structural rigidity for external use. It is suitable for gardens, patios and light domestic driveways, but not for constant or heavy traffic.

Selection should always be based on the clear opening of the chamber. The overall frame size is larger and should not be used for sizing.
