600 x 450mm Sealed & Locking Recessed Manhole Cover Galvanised Steel

The fully galvanised 600 x 450mm sealed and locking recessed manhole cover is designed for installations where both sealing performance and material durability are required. Unlike standard recessed covers that use a polypropylene frame, this unit is manufactured entirely from galvanised steel, providing a more rigid and robust structure.

It is typically used in internal environments such as kitchens, basements and utility areas, where odour control is required. The factory fitted rubber gasket works with the screw locking system to compress the cover onto the frame, helping to reduce odour escape from the drainage system.

Externally, it can be installed in pedestrian areas such as patios, where its galvanised construction provides improved resistance to general wear. However, it is not suitable for trafficked areas due to its 5 tonne load rating.

A common issue with lighter covers is frame movement or long term wear in the bedding. The steel frame construction helps reduce this risk, providing a more stable installation, particularly in screed or concrete floors.
