900 x 600mm Ductile Iron Manhole Cover and Frame B125

This 900 x 600mm ductile iron manhole cover and frame is a solid top B125 rated access cover designed for external areas where pedestrian use and occasional vehicle traffic are expected. It is commonly used on private driveways, parking bays, paved service areas, access routes and light commercial sites.

The solid top lid remains visible after installation, making it a practical option where durability, security and easy chamber access matter more than a concealed paving finish. The cast anti-slip tread pattern helps improve grip underfoot in wet conditions.

Manufactured from ductile iron, this cover provides strong structural performance with improved toughness and crack resistance compared with traditional cast iron. It is well suited to repeated domestic vehicle loading when correctly installed on a suitable surround.

The 900 x 600mm clear opening offers generous access for larger drainage chambers, inspection pits and utility connections where extra working space is needed. Always measure the chamber opening rather than an old lid, as external frame sizes vary between manufacturers.

B125 loading is suitable for Group 2 applications under BS EN 124, including pedestrian areas, private parking zones and locations with occasional car or light van traffic. It is not intended for carriageways, public roads or regularly trafficked heavy vehicle areas where D400 or above would normally be required.

Install the frame on a full mortar or concrete bed, level with the finished surface, with continuous support beneath all sides to help prevent rocking or movement over time.
