600 x 450mm Grass & Gravel Recessed Manhole Cover 10 Tonne

This recessed manhole cover is designed to provide concealed access within grass, landscaped and gravel surfaces. The rectangular format suits standard inspection chambers, while the recessed tray allows the chosen infill to sit flush with the surrounding ground.

Two infill options are available. The grass top version is intended for soil and turf, using drainage holes and membrane layers to support water movement and grass growth. The gravel top version incorporates an EcoGrid reinforcement layer, which stabilises loose aggregate and prevents movement under foot or vehicle loading.

The 80mm tray depth is suited to typical external build-ups. It allows for turf or gravel finishes without excessive build height, helping avoid issues where shallow trays lead to poor establishment or loose infill.

The unit is constructed with a galvanised steel tray and a polypropylene frame. This combination provides structural strength with corrosion resistance in ground conditions. It is suitable for domestic driveways and similar applications, with a load rating of 10 tonne when correctly installed.

Selection should always be based on the clear opening of the chamber. The overall frame size is larger and should not be used for sizing.
